Defending the Flock

When a Wolf Attacks

Can you carry a gun at church?  In this video, originally prepared for U.S. LawShield, attorney David Katz of The Firearm Firm discusses defending the congregation at religious institutions from an active shooter.

Can You Carry A Firearm At Church?

Nothing in Florida law prohibits the carry of a firearm at a church.  Of course, you may only conceal carry if you you have a Concealed Weapon and Firearm License (CWFL) or recognized out of state equivalent.  Additionally, remember that you may not carry on the property of a school.  Therefore, you must know if your church has a school or daycare on the property.  If it does, you may not be able to carry.

What about an organized voluntary Church security force?

Can your religious organization organize the members of the congregation into a security force?  Can they wear “SECURITY TEAM” shirts and carry firearms?

To learn more about all these questions, watch this video.
